Our Pool Recommissioning Process includes everything you need to be ready for the summer season, including:
- Winter Cover Removal – packed and stored until needed, along with anti-frost drums
- Pump & Pipework Reassembly – re-primed, started, and checked for leaks
- Full System Inspection – assess pipework, valves, and equipment for any damage and report findings
- Valve Function Check – ensure smooth operation and correct spindle tightness
- Heating System Check – light boiler or heat pump, ensure efficient operation, and leave heating on if you are ready
- Automatic Pool Cleaner Testing – ensure readiness for summer use
- Automatic Cover Testing (if applicable) – confirm smooth operation or report and quote as needed
- Reinstate Poolside Equipment – reconnect accessories and fittings
- Summer Settings – program time clocks for optimal seasonal running times
- Spring Chemical Treatment – shock dosing (5kg) and summer algaecide (5L) if required; optional pack available
- Pool Vacuuming (optional) – available upon request; additional charge applies (often needed if pool is green on opening)
- Tidy-Up – leave the pool area and plant room clean and organised
- Chlorine Wash (depending on style) – thorough cleaning of traditional pool coping stones to remove winter algae and stains

Preparing Your Pool for a Smooth Recommission
Recommended Information
To avoid multiple visits (and extra costs), please consider these recommendations before your booked appointment:
- Book Early – Schedule your recommission at least two weeks before you plan to swim, especially before bank holidays. If your preferred date is booked, we'll arrange the closest available slot.
- Check Pool Condition – Lift a corner of your cover and inspect the water level and clarity. Let us know the condition in advance so we can prepare accordingly.
- Pre-Dose if Necessary – If your pool water looks poor, contact us for advice on correct chemicals and pre-dose if instructed. If your pool is green or cloudy and we cannot see the floor clearly, an additional (chargeable) visit will be required.
- Top Up Water Levels – Ensure the water is level with the top of the skimmer mouth so we can vacuum to waste winter debris, dust, leaves, or sediment. Vacuuming to waste will lower the water level, so topping up beforehand is essential.

Once your pool is up and running, we can return as and when you need us. Whether you are new to owning a pool or a seasoned owner looking for assistance or wanting us to take on all pool and spa maintenance, we are here to help.
Our service visits not only provide cleaning and visual improvements but also professional water testing and chemistry balancing. If you have a special event, we can begin checking and dosing your pool in advance. Please remember that some chemical treatments may render your pool unsafe for up to a week, so plan accordingly.

- Pre-Dose if Necessary - If your pool water appears to be in poor condition, please contact us for advice on the correct chemicals to use before our visit.
- Top Up Water Levels - Ensure water is level with the top of the skimmer mouth, so we can vacuum to waste (if required). Low water levels may mean a return visit is needed.
Post-Recommission Pool Care
Once your pool is running:
- Test and balance water chemistry regularly.
- If you have a special event, begin checking and dosing your pool a couple of weeks in advance.
- Heavy chemical dosing may mean your pool is unswimmable for up to a week – plan accordingly.
